HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN FOR MAC HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN FOR ANDROID HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN BLUETOOTH HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN PROFESSIONAL The knobs and buttons also have a good bit of separation between them. I do have my gripes about its size, but it manages to show a good amount of information without feeling overly cramped. It’s primarily black and white, but there’s enough contrast to ensure that you’ll always see what you need even on stage. I am quite pleased with the monochrome screen. Knobs have a decent bit of resistance, allowing precise changes to be made, and buttons have a tactile feel to them with a slight click off each press. Let’s talk about the controls of the RD-88, buttons and knobs are the main medium of interaction with the internals, and as you’d expect from Roland, they feel great. That’s something that was absent on the RD-2000. Having speakers isn’t necessary, as you’ll be using external amplifiers or speakers during performances, but it’s very helpful if you want a convenient way to audition sounds at home. This is even more impressive when you consider that Roland includes stereo 6W speakers on this instrument. This is a threshold the RD-88 manages to avoid quite handily.įor reference, the RD-88 weighs a comfortable 29.7 lbs (13.5 kg), and has a slimmer profile of 50.6″ (W) x 10.2″ (D) x 6.3″ (H). However, most stage pianos aren’t exactly easy on your spine, going as high as 44 lbs (20 kg) in some cases. Stage pianos are generally less heavy than digital pianos geared towards home-based use, and that’s mainly due to the omission of heavy components such as speakers. One of the big selling points of the RD-88 is its slim profile and relatively lighter weight. From what I can tell, this is an instrument that will stand the test of time. Roland’s usual eye for quality is retained here, and I’m happy with the RD-88’s durability. That’s not to say its badly built though. For what it’s worth, you’ll avoid the common problem of fingerprints. I’ll excuse this subjective flaw because of the price, but I really don’t consider the RD-88 a ‘looker’. I usually don’t mind matte black surfaces, but the uniform palate on the RD-88 somehow feels a little bit off. In the looks department, the RD-88 looks weirdly cheap. This doesn’t mean it’s bad though, it just doesn’t fit in with my personal tastes. Otherwise, a dead simple device that does what one would expect.Personally, I’m not a fan of the RD-88’s design. HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN PROFESSIONAL For the price of the plugin, it might have been better to include that with the professional plugin so that people using the Virtual Mix plugin could directly target what it would sound like for people who use the tracker solely to enhance their listening experience. That is a costed option at an additional $9.95. HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN FOR MAC The tracker does not come with the separate software for Mac and Widows to allow you to use it for general listening. It would be good if there was some mixing oriented apps that uses this available for the iphone or android. HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN FOR ANDROID There's also a free app for android and iphone to utilize the tracker with your phone, but it's geared more towards general listening than mixing. I was afraid the head tracker would just be a gimmick, but it honestly adds a lot to the plugin. However, if you put the plugin in 'Sensor Fusion Mode' (using both the webcam and the head tracker to track you in the virtual space), it eliminates this distortion. The only problem I found with the product is that if you jerk your head very quickly there is an audible crackle as the plugin adjusts to your head's new orientation. It comes with an extra fastener should the first one become broken. HONEST REVIEW OF WAVES NX PLUGIN BLUETOOTH It was easy to setup as pairing a bluetooth device and the included strap will fit on any set of headphones. The tracking of the virtual monitor speakers seems more natural, and when you stare at a blank space in the room it seems like there really is an invisible speaker coming out of the air. It effectively deals with the latency problem doing head tracking with a webcam with the Waves Nx plugin. Thinking that it might be more useful if I tried the dedicated Nx Head Tracker with the plugin, I thought I'd drop the $49 price because it was on sale. It seemed like my head could turn faster than the plugin could adjust the audio. I got the Waves Audio Nx plugin and initially did head tracking with the built-in webcam tracking, which worked well out of the box but had definite latency problems. I've been using the Waves Audio Nx 'virtual room' plugin for mixing because I currently don't have a treated space nor a set of monitors.

#LIGHTROOM CC NOT EXPORTING MULTIPLE FILES TO PTGUI WINDOWS# So, you may as well save your time by working on the HDR image after merging and not bother working on your original raw files. The other adjustments remain the same.Īlso, when doing an HDR merge, Camera Raw ignores all the tone adjustments you may have already made, as well as any local adjustments, including spot healing. However, one thing to note is instead of the normal Exposure range of +– 4 stops, the HDR range is expanded to +– 10 stops. You can use all the processing tools in Camera Raw to adjust the image. Don’t confuse 16-bit floating-point to 16-bit integer images it’s still a floating-point image. Next, the resulting DNG file is stored as a 16-bit floating-point image, but the processing applied is done in 32-bit floating-point. The image has been demosaiced, but it’s still a linear gamma (1.0). First, the resulting file is a Linear DNG, which means it’s not a completely raw file it’s what I call a half-baked raw file. How well did Camera Raw do with the deghosting? I’ll show you in a moment, but first I wanted to cover some of the details of using Camera Raw’s DNG HDR. In the first figure, I’ve selected the option to use Auto Tone to lighten the image for better previewing.įIGURE 3.83 The Deghosting Amount options and overlay previews. Show Deghost Overlay shows a preview of where the deghosting will occur.įigure 3.83 shows the various deghosting options and the Deghost Overlay for each option. There was also a problem with a slow shutter speed, which introduced some motion blur in the longest exposure. In this image of redwood trees in a forest, the breeze moved some of the branches. Deghost Amount uses an algorithm to determine which of the bracketed shots to use if there is any movement (ghosts) between exposures. This can be useful, but since the settings are parametric, you can always change them later. Auto Tone applies the default auto-exposure corrections for the image. If you handhold the bracket, you really should use this option. I use this all the time, even if I’ve shot the bracket on a tripod. Auto Align attempts to align images prior to merging. There are various options to choose from: This is handy if you are doing a lot of merges! However, if you add the Shift key to the preceding commands, you can bypass the Preview window and Camera Raw will do the merge with whatever settings you used last. Command+M (Mac) or Ctrl+M (Windows) will bring up the Merge to Panorama. The most selected image is also the one used to propagate EXIF metadata.įrom within Camera Raw you can use the shortcut key Option+M (Mac) or Alt+M (Windows) to access the Merge to HDR. If you do multiple HDR merges, the later merges receive a number to avoid overwriting the previous –HDR file. The merge function produces a new DNG based on the most selected image’s filename and appends a –HDR to the filename. You’ll see that the “most selected image” is at the bottom. Once in Camera Raw, select the images you want to merge and use the flyout menu at the top of the filmstrip, as shown in Figure 3.81. To do an HDR merge in Camera Raw, you must first select multiple images in Bridge and open the images in the Filmstrip mode in Camera Raw. However, the results are actually very good. It should also be noted that the UI functionality offers very little control compared to third-party applications dedicated to HDR and pano merging. Hopefully, that will change in the future. At this point the engineers have said this is due to performance issues, and you can’t zoom into the preview. There are some limitations: the preview is limited to 2048 pixels in the long dimension if you’re using a Retina-type, high-resolution display or 1024 pixels when using a normal display. #LIGHTROOM CC NOT EXPORTING MULTIPLE FILES TO PTGUI WINDOWS# However, both Preview windows behave the same way with the same options and limitations. The manner of accessing those features is different. Now you can do that directly in Lightroom and Camera Raw.īoth Lightroom and Camera Raw use the same functionality and UI. In the old days (before Lightroom CC/6 and ACR 9), if you wanted to do an HDR or pano merge, you had to first take your images into Photoshop.
